Video description and transcript
00–04 — A small figure lifts their head. Dark marks press into their speech bubble. Narrator: ‘One person tries to speak. Their voice is drowned out.’ 04–10 — A red point branches into the word VIRAL. Phones rise and heads turn. Narrator: ‘Then, their story spreads. People turn to look.’ 10–18 — Cameras and microphones approach. A REPORT receives a FOLLOWED UP stamp. Doors open; the crowd narrows the figure's space. Narrator: ‘The cameras arrive. Doors begin to open.’ 18–20 — The crowd and music stop; only a breath and quiet room tone remain. Narrator: ‘But…’ 20–26 — The question appears: WHY MUST IT / GO VIRAL FIRST… / …BEFORE IT IS HEARD? The narrator asks the same question. 26–28 — The small figure returns, followed by the closing words: NO VIRAL, NO JUSTICE?
The challenge
Express a social question through gesture, rhythm, and space in 28 seconds. Without detailed facial expressions, the character's head angle, shoulders, breathing, and shifting weight carry the emotion.
The idea
Black ink on ivory paper shapes 13 scenes. A red point spreads into attention: screens rise, cameras approach, a report moves, and doors open. At 18 seconds, the crowd disappears. The film leaves a question: why must it go viral before it is heard?
